Singer-songwriter and pianist Joshua McDonald will perform a concert of original works on Friday, Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Heartbeet Community Center, 218 Town Farm Road in Hardwick.
McDonald, who graduated from Stowe High School in June, has been composing music for about two years; he began playing piano nine years ago.
“The purpose of my music is to relate it to other people, a problem they may have in their lives. I just try to create a really human emotion with my music and the lyrics,” McDonald said.
Heartbeet is a lifesharing community and licensed therapeutic residence including adults with developmental disabilities, interweaving social, artistic and agricultural realms. Community members care for and grow with one another, celebrating the joys and challenges of life.
The concert is free, but donations are suggested. More info: heartbeet.org.
