A night of entertainment by comedians Josie Leavitt and Tim Kavanagh will benefit the Stowe Weekend of Hope on Saturday, May 4, starting at 8:30 p.m. at Stoweflake Resort. Josie Leavitt started in stand-up comedy in NYC in the 1990s before moving to Vermont to open a bookstore. She was a director at the Pride Center of Vermont, leaving in 2018 to focus on her health after a breast-cancer diagnosis. She started “Stand Up, Sit Down and Laugh” at the Flynn in 2005, and founded the five-member troupe Vermont Comedy Divas in 2006. She’s performed throughout the country and taught hundreds of aspiring comics. After Leavitt’s set, Tim Kavanagh of Game Shows VT will host “Survey Says!”, a spoof on the classic TV game show “Family Feud.” Come with your own team or join one at the event, and compete to name the most popular responses to survey questions in order to win a coveted spot in the bonus round. Tickets are $10 for registered Weekend of Hope attendees, and $15 for guests and the general public. There will be a cash bar on site. More information about the Weekend: stowehope.org.
