Jewish Film Festival: "Zion" group

Jamie Elman and Eli Batalion, self-proclaimed “performers first, noshers second and filmmakers third,” eat their way around Montreal in “Chewdaism.” ‘Chewdaism: A Taste of Montreal’ is the final installment in the 4th Stowe Jewish Film Festival at Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center, 122 Hourglass Lane, Stowe. The 7 p.m. screening is Wednesday, Aug. 7.

The film is by Jamie Elman and Eli Batalion, creators of the webcast “YidLife Crisis,” discover the roots of the Montreal’s Jewish community through a series of classical Jewish eateries telling the story of their community in the last 100 years, with various guests along the way sharing tales and meals. Hilarity and history lessons ensue.

Batalion will speak at the screening, and samples of treats from Montreal will be served. Tickets are $10 advance, $15 at the door: sprucepeakarts.com; jcogs.org.
