Lamoille Union High School presents two one-act plays on Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m. The first play is a comedy titled “So … What Are We Doing Tonight?” by Ian McWethy. It hilariously explores the problems involved when too many people try to make a simple decision. It will be followed by a serious play called “Validation” by award-winning Vermont playwright Alan Haehnel. The setting is a mid-90’s reality TV show, and it somewhat disturbingly explores the question “what is reality?” Following the plays, there will be a talk-back session with the cast and crew. “Validation” will be presented by the students at the Regional Drama Festival at Otter Valley Union High School the following Saturday. Many students have devoted a great deal of time in preparation of these plays, including Adelle Yetman, Alex Squires, Allicia Bidwell, Carson Ring, Elijah Miller, Faith Ladue, Griffin Koss, Harley Whitten, Kira Parker Dimetrick, Lauren Tourangeau, Olivia Irish, Rhiannon Boutin, Robin Granito, Sam Abramsohn, Sami Gallagher, Taeghan Menard, Kaleb Bridgman, Elliott Ferriman, and Erubey Lopez. Veteran director Jack von Behren is assisted this year by David Constantine, a theater major at Northern Vermont University - Johnson Campus. David is a Lamoille grad who has given generously of his time to share his theater education with the students. Tickets will be available at the door, $5 for students and $8 for adults. 736 Route 15 West, Hyde Park.
