‘Coming Home,’ a new film by Bess O’Brien, will be shown in Bentley 207 at Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 4:30 p.m., presented by NVU-Johnson and the Lamoille Restorative Center. “Coming Home” tells the story of five very different individuals returning to their Vermont communities after incarceration. Each is supported by a COSA (Circle of Support and Accountability). The film takes an intimate look at the COSA process, the struggles and challenges of folks coming out of prison and the success of the restorative justice model. The film runs 90 minutes and will be followed by a 30-minute panel discussion and Q&A. Panelists include a local parole officer, Sue Teske, COSA facilitator from St. Johnsbury Community Justice Center; Deb Clarke and Marks Savay, COSA core members; and Erin Whitcomb from Lamoille Restorative Center, the COSA facilitator. The event is free and open to the public. Information: Bobby Blanchard-Lewis, 888-0545, bblanchard@lrcvt.org; Emily Nielsen, emily.nielsen@northernvermont.edu. Trailer: vimeo.com/288447403.
