Elm Street residents received a reprieve last week from nighttime work to replace a sewer line.

On Sunday, Engineers Construction — which is performing the work — installed bypass piping, which eliminated the need to work at night during the week.

But some night work is planned later this month — 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 8 and Nov. 20.

Work to replace the 15-inch-diameter sewer line is expected to be completed by mid-December.
