Dozens of volunteers gathered Saturday at Harwood Union High School to pack 20,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending global hunger by the year 2030. The event was organized by the Waterbury and Mad River Valley Rotary clubs, and the Harwood Union Interact Club. The meals will be distributed through school lunch programs. Since 2005, the organization has packed and distributed more than 500 million meals around the world.
