July 23, at 10:00 a.m., after reviewing surveillance footage at Maplewood Convenience Store on River Road in Waterbury, police charged recently hired employee Matthew A. Hayes, 19, of Waterbury with petty larceny. Police allege Hayes stole money from the cash register and numerous store items while on the job.

July 25 at 11:29 p.m., after a traffic stop on Interstate 189 in South Burlington, police charged Tucker Culpepper, 33, of Morristown with driving under the influence of alcohol.

July 27 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., police conducted patrols on Interstate 89 in Washington County. Police made 27 traffic stops and issued 21 tickets and six written warnings. Of the tickets issued, 20 were for speeding and one was for driving after criminal license suspension.

Note: Charges filed by police are subject to review and can be amended or dropped. This includes reports from the two Vermont State Police troopers assigned to Waterbury, as well as other local incidents.
