A Winooski man drowned Saturday afternoon while fishing in Bolton.

At 12:37 p.m. on June 1, police responded to a report that 18-year-old Padam Tiwari had entered the Winooski River while fishing with family near a suspended foot bridge just off of Duxbury Road.

The road was reduced to one lane while State Police — with assistance from first responders from Bolton and Richmond, and Colchester Technical Rescue — recovered Tiwari’s body.
