A Waterbury man badly injured in a head-on collision June 2 in Bridport has been accused of causing the crash.

Corey Cummings, 25, was rushed to UVM Medical Center in Burlington with serious bodily injury.

The other driver, Philip Stearns, 40, of Addison, was not injured.

Vermont State Police said investigators allege Cummings fell asleep while driving his 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, allowing it to slam into Stearns’ 2012 Toyota Tundra.

He’s been charged with careless and negligent driving and is due in Addison County court on Aug. 6.
