Grace Simmons

Harwood’s Grace Simmons in action this past season versus Stowe.

Seven players on this year’s Harwood Union High School girls lacrosse team have been named to the Division 2 All-State teams.

Versatile goal scorer Grace Simmons was the sole Highlander named to the Division 2 All-State First Team. The senior attacker was Harwood’s leading scorer and was a constant threat, finishing the season with several games with at least three goals.

A pair of juniors were named to the Division 2 All-State Second Team; Erica Dow was a stalwart for the Highlanders on defense and midfielder Peyton Lanphear gave the team a consistent second scoring option behind Simmons while also helping to control play in the middle third of the field.

Four Highlanders were named to the Division 2 Honorable Mention squad: senior attacker Ellie Rochford and fellow seniors Isabel Jamieson and Sophia Libby and junior Kelly Tynan, all midfielders.

The all-state teams are selected by the coaches in the division.
