It’s out with the high-fashion designer brands, and in with the country chic.
Miller’s Country Outfitters’ building on Route 100 in Morrisville may not house 20 heifers anymore, but gleeful (m)oohs can still be heard from within its walls as customers find great prices on high-quality traditional brands fit for farming, gardening or old-school Vermont fashion.
Miller’s offers everything from flannels to fleece, shorts to skirts, and Dockers to Dickies. Hikers and sneakers, Muck boots and work boots line the footwear section. You won’t find any Birkenstocks (in case you missed it, they’re back on trend) or Haute Hippie here.
Miller’s Country Outfitters opened as a country clothing and footwear store in 1975, and is a family affair, with three generations manning the register, stocking and pricing items. The building belonged to owner Brent Miller’s grandfather, George, many decades before that as a dairy farm.
“Malls may be dying, but Miller’s is still here,” Brent said.
