PK Coffee, which started as a pop-up service at Commodities Market before expanding to a permanent location on Mountain Road last spring, is returning to its roots for the holidays.
While still grounded in Stowe, owners Katrina Veerman and Matt Carrell will also be grinding beans and foaming milk in coffee cups 75 miles south of here, starting tomorrow.
The Bar at Simon Pearce in Quechee is a great new way to unwind after a long day at work. But during the day, it will give customers a boost as PK Coffee will be serving up coffee, tea, espresso and freshly made pastries from Nov. 11 through February, from 8 a.m. to noon, Thursday through Monday.
“I reached out to them, and we had good meetings,” Veerman said. “I guess they decided they wanted to serve really good coffee.”
Veerman has already brought in her own equipment, and customers will be greeted by the same friendly faces that are serving up caffeine in Stowe— at least until they hire a few more people.
Whoever they hire will be trained in Stowe before going to Quechee.
On top of the restaurant and bar, Simon Pearce is first and foremost a glass blowing and pottery company, which designs handmade and elegant glassware, tableware, lighting and home décor.
After talking with the managerial team, Simon Pearce made PK Coffee cups to match the sizes that they generally serve.
“It’s been an amazing experience building up our home base in Stowe, and this is a great way to test the waters for future expansion,” Veerman said. “The easiest way to build a business is to have diversity. Stowe is number one, and Simon Pearce is a great place to test a new location, and see if it would work. We are very excited about this partnership.”
Veerman said that although this partnership is only temporary, they’d love to become a regular pop-up at Simon Pearce.
