Lisa Ann Kaiser, 43, of Woodbury died Oct. 22, 2014, in the comfort of her family at the Vermont Respite House in Williston after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born in New Haven, Conn., June 26, 1971, daughter of Judith (Sornberger) and Larry Thompson Sr.

On Sept. 16, 1995, she married Jeffrey S. Kaiser in Moretown.

Lisa graduated from Lamoille Union High School and then followed her dream and passion of becoming a nurse, graduating from the nursing program at Vermont College/ Norwich University. She began her nursing career at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin, a vocation that spanned more than 20 years, working as an intravenous nurse and heading up the intravenous team. During this time, she also worked with Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice and was the nursing director for Cota’s Hospitality Home in Barre.

She was a member of CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion), the Infusion Nurses Society and the Lamoille Valley Church of the Nazarene in Johnson.

Lisa’s family fondly remembers her joy in gardening, in being outdoors, in making crafts of all kinds and in traveling throughout the United States; the family will also remember the love she expressed for her family and many friends.

Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Kaiser, and their daughters, Kaitlyn and Madeline, all of Woodbury; her parents, Judith and Larry Thompson Sr. of Eden; her sisters, Tammy Peters and husband Seth of Hyde Park, and Sarah Thompson and companion Cory Russin of Johnson; her brother, Larry Thompson Jr. of Enfield, Conn.; her mother-in-law, Linda Kaiser of Waterbury; her brothers-in-law, Wesley Kaiser of Waterbury and Dennis Kaiser and wife Sheila of Colchester; her former sister-in-law, Ann Kaiser of South Burlington; and nieces, nephews and extended family.

A service celebrating the life of Lisa Kaiser was held Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Lamoille Valley Church of the Nazarene in Johnson. Burial followed in South Woodbury Cemetery.
