Jan. 11 at 3:28 p.m., a Wolcott parent read a newspaper item about a person who’d been driving without a valid license, and told police that person was driving kids to school.
Jan. 11 at 5:19 p.m., a Hyde Park resident reported seeing a car with an improperly fitted child safety seat.
Jan. 11 at 6:04 p.m., a car hit a deer on Route 15 in Hyde Park, near the VFW.
Jan. 11 at 11:23 p.m., police accused Elizabeth G. Perry, 36, of Barre with unlawful trespass and disorderly conduct. Witnesses in three separate apartment units at one Wolcott address complained she barged in without permission, police said.
Jan. 12 at 12:21 a.m., while at the above Wolcott address, police discovered a warrant had been issued for the arrest of one of the people for failing to appear for a court date. Police cited Kyle R. Foran, 34, of Hardwick to appear in court on the active warrant.
Jan. 12 at 10:22 a.m., a woman whose Toyota RAV4 was rear-ended by a Chevy pickup truck at a stop sign in Wolcott was worried her newborn child might be hurt. First responders determined no one was injured, and both vehicles could be driven away.
Jan. 12 at 4:46 p.m., a Johnson resident told police a person who bought a mobile home from him or her had stopped paying, and a registered sex offender was living there. Police said the person was not on the sex offender registry and the property transaction was a civil matter.
Jan. 12 at 5:28 p.m., a driver in Johnson swerved to miss turkeys in the middle of Lendway Road and ended up in a snowbank.
Jan. 13 at 12:06 a.m., witnesses said a Johnson woman drank a fifth of vodka and passed out. She was revived and taken to Copley Hospital to detox, despite her protestations.
Jan. 13 at 8:31 a.m., a woman “known to law enforcement officials” was hanging out around Maplefields in Johnson, and was issued a no-trespass notice.
Jan. 13 at 8:52 p.m., police accused a 17-year-old male of unlawful mischief after he allegedly smashed a window in Johnson and threatened to harm himself.
Jan. 14 at 1:53 p.m., a woman who threatened to harm herself dead-bolted herself in her house and wouldn’t initially answer the door. When she did, she told police she was going to hitchhike to St. Johnsbury to get some mental health services.
Jan. 15 at 8:36 a.m., after hearing third-party chatter about a man threatening to kill someone, police talked to the man, who appeared in a positive mood and was seeking mental health services.
Jan. 15 at 2:55 p.m., a sheriff’s deputy backed a cruiser into a mailbox while in Shelburne. He didn’t think he caused any damage but reported it nonetheless.
Jan. 16 at 12:46 a.m., a deputy assisted Morristown police with an intoxicated person behind an auto body shop near the Route 15 roundabout.
Jan. 16 at 10:43 a.m., in Johnson, a caller thought a drunken driver had picked up a student. Police pulled the man over, and determined he was sober.
Jan. 16 at 6:32 p.m., police accused Adam Lee Stoddard, 37, of Morrisville of driving under the influence, second or subsequent offense. Police said Stoddard’s car crashed in Johnson, and a 4-year-old child was in the car. The child was evaluated by medics and cleared of injury. The mother came for the child, and Stoddard was processed for DUI.
Jan. 16 at 7:10 p.m., an elderly woman with mental health problems thought someone had broken into her house in North Hyde Park and messed with the wiring, and was fearful the house might blow up. Police checked the home and found it safe, and called mental health professionals.
Jan. 16 at 10:19 p.m., a person was walking along the side of the road, drinking. Police gave the person a ride to the homeless shelter for the night, after testing their sobriety and deeming them sober enough.
Jan. 17 at 2:52 p.m., police accused Lindsey Cochran, 31, of Johnson with driving after criminal license suspension . They spotted her pulling into a driveway, driving a car that wasn’t registered to her.
