Gannell Beulah (Yaddow) Bocash, 85, died on Friday, April 5, 2024.
She was born on Sept. 29, 1938, to Roswell and Alice Yaddow. She married Harold Bocash on Nov. 3, 1956, and was the proud mother of three daughters.
She held many jobs during her lifetime, including digging potatoes for Salls & Katonis, sewing for Concord Manufacturing, Smugglers’ Notch and Turtle Fur, delivering Meals on Wheels and volunteering for Second Chance Thrift Shop. But she was most proud of being a certified licensed nursing assistant and her time working in nursing homes.
She often held more than one job at a time. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. Camping in Maine, going to North Carolina with her daughter Lucy and family, taking her grandchildren to Granby Zoo and eating out and visiting her sisters-in-law, Betty and Beatrice, were all treasured experiences. She had many hobbies as well. She loved gardening, crafting, canning, baking, trips to the casino, playing bingo, singing karaoke with Carol and lottery scratch tickets.
Anyone who knew her for very long would most certainly have been gifted with homemade pickles, jelly, cookies, baked beans or handmade gifts such as kitchen towels or pillowcases, among many other things. Later in life she looked forward to her time at Out & About.
She was also a proud lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3210 Auxiliary.
She was a hardworking, kind, generous, loving person who spread smiles and happiness wherever she went and to everyone she met.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold; daughter, Lucy Patch; sister, Audrey Messier; and brother, Edmund Yaddow.
She is survived by her daughters, Jan Perkins and husband, Chris of Johnson and Pamela Miller and husband, Larry of Barre; son-in-law, Richard Patch Sr. of Hyde Park; grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer and husband, Joel, Melissa, Amanda and husband, Chris and Richard Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Bocash and Betty Bocash; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Mary Jane.
Thank you to Out & About, Lamoille Home Health & Hospice and The Manor for all the comfort she was given. Donations in her memory can be made to Fraternal Order of Eagles #3210, PO Box 326, Jeffersonville VT 05464.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at 2 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home, Fairfax Chapel. Burial will be in the family lot in Plains Cemetery Hyde Park on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Al Lamos offering prayers.
