"Summer Shadows"

Andrew Orr’s painting “Summer Shadows” won first place and best of show at a 2018 Bryan Memorial Gallery exhibit.

Bryan Memorial Gallery has announced the award winners at its annual exhibit “Land and Light and Water and Air,” which includes more than 100 juried landscape paintings of New England scenes from regional artists.

T.M. Nicholas, artist and president of the Rockport Art Association of Rockport, Mass., served as the prize juror and made the following awards:

First Place, Best of Show, and the Alden Bryan Medal for Painting: Andrew Orr, Richford, Vt., “Summer Shadows.”

Second Place: Peter Yesis, Searsport, Maine, “Milk House.”

Third Place: Harley Bartlett, Hope, R.I., “Late Afternoon.”

Honorable Mention in Oils: Erik Koeppel of Jackson, N.H., for “Winter Sunset,” and Eric Tobin of Johnson for “Vermont Barn.”

Honorable Mention in Watercolors: Margaret Wilson Kipp of Belmont, Mass., for “Clouds” and Susan Bull Riley of Montpelier for “Winter Light.”
