There’s nothing like a group of gay guys having a party. You can put them on a ski slope or on a boat or anywhere, and you just know it will be fun — at least, so says Julie Goldman.

Goldman is a Jewish lesbian, and has no problem eliciting laughs at her own expense. She began doing stand-up comedy in Boston at 15 years old and never stopped.

Goldman is performing in Stowe Saturday, Jan. 21, as part of the 33rd annual Winter Rendezvous — also known as gay ski week. Her show generally covers being Jewish and gay, and digs into politics.

Since her show is the day after a controversial inauguration, Goldman should have a lot of fodder.

“People will be in a state of transition, and whether they support Donald Trump or not, people are losing their minds,” Goldman said.

She thinks gay people will tend to fall on the liberal side of the argument, and feel both shaken up and sad.

“I think by Saturday, we will all need a good laugh,” she said.

Asked what she thinks of President-elect Trump, Goldman said she gives him a year before “the CIA exposes him, and he is impeached.”

While Goldman has an idea of what she will do and say during the show, to some extent she goes with the flow.

“The most satisfying thing about stand-up is being able to say whatever I want. I almost feel like a cartoon character, because I’m really not like that in my personal life. When I’m in front of an audience, though, I like to stir things up,” Goldman said.

While in Vermont for gay ski week, Goldman says she will not have a chance to ski herself; she arrives the day of the show and leaves early the next morning for a gay cruise.

On top of her stand-up career, Goldman has been a television star on Logo’s “Big Gay Sketch Show,” Bravo’s “The People’s Couch” and the “Vanderpump Rules After Show.” She is a cast member of Logo’s “Gay Skit Happens,” and has a monthly podcast, co-hosted by Brandy Howard, called “Dumb Gay Politics.”

Tickets for Goldman’s show are included with a full or weekend Winter Rendezvous pass. Single event tickets for those not registered for the ski week can also be purchased at winterrendezvous.com/schedule1.

Winter Rendezvous

Winter Rendezvous brings about 500 gay, lesbian, transgendered and queer tourists to Stowe for five days of outdoor fun, special events and entertainment.

This year’s rendezvous began Wednesday night with an opening party at Stowe Bowl and will run through Sunday. The five-day event includes a drag queen downhill costume and parade competition at Midway Lodge, a performance by singer-songwriter Jimmy James, parties at Spruce Camp, Midway Lodge and the Rusty Nail, a 3D laser blackout party at Backyard Tavern, an après-ski pool party at Trapp Family Lodge, and a bonfire.
