Kenji Bunch and Monica Ohuchi

The Noon Music in May series, presented by Stowe Performing Arts, continues on Wednesday, May 22 at noon, at the Stowe Community Church on Main Street, with a performance by two members from the Craftsbury Chamber Players. Special guests are violist Kenji Bunch and pianist Monica Ohuchi, a husband-and-wife team who are founders of the Oregon-based Thunder Egg Consort. The program is inspired by song and dance and includes Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances, Rachmaninov/Kreisler’s “Liebeslied” for solo piano, and a Cole Porter song arranged by Kenji Bunch. Bunch is recognized for his own groundbreaking works for viola, and more than 50 orchestras worldwide have performed his works. Ohuchi is a guest soloist in orchestras around the country. She is the executive director and pianist for the new music ensemble fEARnoMUSIC, as well as a member of the faculty at Reed College in Portland, Ore. Information: stoweperformingarts.com.
