Isaac S. Sternbach, 32, of Montpelier, pleaded not guilty to simple assault on a protected professional and four counts of criminal threatening.
Brian A. Jagodzinski, 62, of Stowe, denied violating probation.
Seth Russin, 27, of Cambridge, pleaded not guilty to violating an abuse prevention notice.
Brandon Tallman, 26, of Hardwick, pleaded not guilty to two counts of violating conditions of release.
Joseph T. Gonyo, 39, of Enosburg, pleaded not guilty to two counts of retail theft.
Michael Tanguay, 45, of Jeffersonville, pleaded not guilty to driving after criminal license suspension.
Arraignments, week of April 1
Joey Raymond Ewen, 46, no address listed, pleaded not guilty to domestic assault, violating an abuse prevention order, resisting arrest, driving without owner consent, disorderly conduct, retail theft, driving under the influence, third offense, and possession of heroin.
Aaron Vetere, 23, of Wolcott, pleaded not guilty to attempted burglary, unlawful mischief and disorderly conduct.
James M. Cady, 51, of Berlin, pleaded not guilty to DUI No. 4 and violating an ignition interlock device.
Logan Ballard, 35, of Woodbury, pleaded not guilty to retail theft and violating conditions of release.
Ciana Allen, 28, of Hyde Park, denied violating probation.
Mark H. Creedy, 34, of North Bennington, pleaded not guilty to home improvement fraud.
April Bushey, 40, of Bakersfield, pleaded not guilty to financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult and three counts of petit larceny.
Richard Harmon, 47, of Morrisville, pleaded not guilty to domestic assault and simple assault.
Christopher Vorobyov, 24, of Springfield, Mass., pleaded not guilty to possession of stolen property and possession of narcotics.
Graham Taylor, 46, of Morrisville, pleaded not guilty to possession of narcotics and violating conditions of release.
Cases decided, week of April 8
David Pai, 51, of Johnson, was ordered to serve 20 years to life after pleading guilty last September to two counts of sexual assault of someone under the age of 16 in his care. Pai was also sentenced on additional guilty pleas to two counts of first degree aggravated domestic assault and two counts of domestic assault, which will be served concurrently.
Skyler Grimes, 33, of Eden, pleaded guilty to careless or negligent driving and leaving the scene of a crime and was ordered to serve 6-12 months, all suspended with two years of probation. Charges of driving after criminal license suspension were dismissed at the prosecution’s request.
Kevin W. Anderson, 44, of Burlington, pleaded guilty to DUI No. 1 and was ordered to pay $652 in fines and fees.
Shane Christopher Roberts, 37, of Morristown, pleaded no contest to careless or negligent driving and was ordered to pay $149 in fines and fees.
A charge failure to comply with the sex offender registry against Jason Dougherty, 29, of Walden, was dismissed at the prosecution’s request.
A charge of unlawful trespass against Jeremy Derose, 44, of Eden, was dismissed at the prosecution’s request.
Cases decided, week of April 1
Jennifer Brown, 55, of Johnson, pleaded guilty to cruelty to a child and was ordered to serve 6-12 months, all but 15 days suspended, with two years of probation. A charge of simple assault was dismissed at the prosecution’s request.
Miles Steven Lawler, 34, of Swanton, pleaded guilty to false public alarms and was ordered to serve 3-12 months, all but 14 days suspended, with credit for time served, and ordered to serve two years of probation.
Edward C. Harakaly, 37, of Eden, pleaded guilty to false pretenses or tokens and resisting arrest and was ordered to serve 1-12 months, all suspended with six months of probation. Charges of unlawful mischief, DUI No. 2 and violating conditions of release were dismissed at the prosecution’s request.
Aart Nugteren, 66, pleaded guilty to DUI test refusal and was ordered to serve 0-3 months, all suspended with two years of probation.
Jacob Clayton, 27, of Hyde Park, pleaded guilty to violating an abuse prevention order and was ordered to serve one year of probation.
Eric J. Cardinal, 50, of Cambridge, pleaded guilty to DUI No. 2 and was ordered to serve 6-24 months, all but 96 hours suspended, with two years of probation. A charge of driving after criminal license suspension was dismissed at the prosecution’s request.
Amy Joyal, 46, of Elmore, pleaded guilty to driving after criminal license suspension and was ordered to pay $312 in fines and fees. Charges of retail theft, violating conditions of release, narcotics possession and driving after criminal license suspension were dismissed at the prosecution’s request.
A charge of driving after criminal license suspension against Seth D. Barton, 44, of Johnson, was dismissed at the prosecution’s request.
A charge of failing to comply with the sex offender registry against Ernest Madore, 49, of Holderness, N.J., was dismissed at the prosecution’s request.
