2018 documentary “RBG”

The 2018 documentary “RBG,” which chronicles the career of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, will be shown on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe at 1189 Cape Cod Road.

Ginsburg’s career spans several decades, and the film shows how she developed a legal legacy while becoming a pop culture icon.

The film is a biographical depiction of Ginsburg — her birth in Brooklyn, her college education and her career as a law professor, her appointment as a judge judiciary by President Carter and eventual appointment to the Supreme Court by President Clinton.

The film includes interviews with feminist icon Gloria Steinem and NPR’s Nina Totenberg on Ginsburg’s trailblazing career focused on women’s rights, as well as showing Ginsburg’s playful side as she engages in banter with the late arch-conservative Justice Antonin Scalia.

This presentation is free, accessible and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
