Stowe Theatre Guild auditions

Stowe Theatre Guild invites actors to audition for its 2019 season. This year, for the first time, there will be season auditions. Actors have to audition only once to be considered for any or all shows.

The shows: “Godspell” the musical, June 12-29; the play “The Diary of Anne Frank,” July 17-Aug. 3; the musical “Mamma Mia!,” Aug. 21-Sept. 7; and the play “A Few Good Men,” Sept. 25-Oct. 12. Shows are Wednesdays through Saturdays at the Town Hall Theater in Stowe.

Auditions for all roles and shows will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. at Stowe High School on Barrows Road. Callbacks, if needed, will be held Sunday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m.

For the acting portion, auditioners may choose to perform a monologue they have prepared, or perform one of the provided readings.

Anyone interested in a musical will be asked to sing. The singing portion may be a short selection of the auditioner’s choice, or one of the provided songs. An accompanist will be provided.

Group dance auditions will be held at the end of the audition session, after individual auditions.

Rehearsals are typically held seven to 12 weeks before each show’s opening.

Email auditions@stowetheatre.com to sign up for an audition slot, or with any other questions. Video auditions will be accepted for those who can’t make it in person; videos must be submitted by Jan. 31 to auditions@stowetheatre.com.
