Zenbarn: A music venue and restaurant with a hip vibe and central location

Envisioning live music and late-night dancing?

Zenbarn in Waterbury Center, just off Interstate 89, is a great place to host a party.

The property offers a beautiful barn-style venue with a full-service restaurant and an outdoor space for your ceremony and wedding-party games. But what really sets the venue apart is the indoor stage, lights and sound system. Touring bands perform at Zenbarn throughout the year, so the building is fully equipped for your live music after-dinner party.

This unique locale offers ultimate flexibility and control over your event. An on-site coordinator is happy to provide as much or as little support as needed. She can help coordinate menus and event set-up and take-down, including decorations and flowers, and assist with lodging and shuttles. Or, you can do it all yourself.

Since Zenbarn is a full-service restaurant and event space, they offer full catering. But they’re also willing to work with outside vendors.

“Every wedding is unique to the couple, and we like to honor that,” said Lin Campbell, Zenbarn’s events director. “We take the time to thoroughly get to know the couple to create the wedding of their desires, customize their menu, and make the day seamless, effortless and stress-free.”

When you book a large event at Zenbarn, you reserve the entire space. Most couples choose to hold their ceremony and dinner on the lawn, with views of Hunger Mountain.

A large tent, rented through the Vermont Tent Company, can accommodate up to 250 people. After dinner, guests move inside for music and dancing. If couples prefer to dine indoors, the restaurant and upstairs loft combined can seat approximately 150 guests.

There are a few Airbnb options on the premises, including a small house that sleeps 10-12 people. They also rent out two yurts that each sleep 15 people. A number of other lodging options are available within a few minutes’ drive.

Zenbarn’s on-site coordinator can also help arrange accommodations at the nearby Fairfield Inn or Best Western, and arrange shuttle service to and from.
