After an extensive national search, the board of trustees of North Country Animal League has hired Tracy Goldfine as executive director.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to work for North Country Animal League,” Goldfine said. “I will be joining an incredibly dedicated board of trustees and staff, as well as many passionate supporters, who have worked endlessly to ensure the protection and care for homeless animals. I look forward to building on their many successes and continuing to promote a nurturing and compassionate relationship between people and animals.”
Jessica Russell, NCAL board president and head of the search committee, said Goldfine’s “nonprofit management skills, passion for animals, and connection to our community are essential additions.”
Goldfine earned a degree in business from the University of Vermont and worked in public relations and marketing in Utah and Wyoming before moving to Stowe.
Additionally, she earned certification in nonprofit management from Marlboro College and pursued graduate work in fundraising and writing grant applications.
She was founding director of Hope Grows Community, a nonprofit in Hyde Park dedicated to working with at-risk youth and horses. She later joined River Arts in Morrisville as development director and was promoted to executive director.
Most recently, Goldfine was communications manager at the Children’s Literacy Foundation in Waterbury.
Goldfine will begin her new job July 11. The community is invited to meet her at NCAL’s annual meeting Aug. 31 at the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe.
Goldfine, who grew up in Waitsfield, lives in Stowe with her husband, Jesse, their children Max and Grace, dog Rocky, cat Fannie and pony Winnie.
