The Stowe Tango Music Festival

The Stowe Tango Music Festival sweeps into town for the third year this weekend, bringing world-class musicians, dancers and students of tango music to play, learn and dance throughout Stowe. The festival was founded by bandoneon player Hector Del Curto and cellist Jisoo Ok, who will play with the festival’s orchestra Saturday, Aug. 19, 8 p.m. at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center. Other events include a free tango jam tonight, Thursday, Aug. 17, 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the Town & Country Resort in Stowe; workshops at Studio 108 and the Palais de Glace, and a milonga at 7:30 p.m. at Topnotch tomorrow, Aug. 18; free Tango Trail events throughout Stowe on Saturday; and a live recording concert and the Che Bandoneon international competition on Sunday, Aug. 20.
