Halloween storm 2019

More than 3 inches of heavy rain swelled rivers and brooks during the Halloween storm that howled through the region, and the gushing water undercut some roadways, left gaping holes in others and washed some away altogether.
A flash flood devastated Brook Road, which intersects North Wolcott Road just outside North Wolcott village. The brook that gives the road its name washed out a culvert and demolished the bottom of the road before passing safely under North Wolcott Road and into the Wild Branch.

A downhill section of Stagecoach Road in Morristown was the victim of a major washout and road collapse during the Halloween storm. Much of the damage was repaired earlier this week, but the road still isn’t fully open to traffic.
