Nov. 10 at 2:20 a.m., police charged Kelly Brooks, 37, of Waterbury with driving under the influence and gross negligent driving. Police said Brooks rolled her car while driving north on Interstate 89 in Bolton.
Nov. 25 at 5:10 p.m., police charged Shaun Reynolds, 55, of Belvidere with driving under the influence. Police had stopped Reynolds for a defective taillight on Route 109 in Belvidere.
Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m., police charged Michael J. Casarico, 53, of Montpelier with driving under the influence in connection with a crash at Airport and Mad River Park roads in Waitsfield. No injuries were reported.
Nov. 30 at 6:53 p.m., a backcountry skier reported he was lost at Mad River Glen in Waitsfield. Police mapped the 911 call from Silas Clark, 37, of Bristol, and learned Clark was actually in Buels Gore. With assistance from Mad River Valley Ambulance, the Camels Hump Backcountry Team, Waterbury Backcountry Rescue and the Waitsfield Fire Department, authorities located Clark at 9:10 p.m. and helped him get out of the woods. He was in good condition. Police suggested skiers should stay on groomed trails.
Nov. 30 at 12:43 a.m., police charged Alejandro Alvarez, 50, of Waterbury with driving after license suspension. Police stopped Alvarez on North Main Street in Waterbury after observing several traffic violations.
Dec. 1 at 1:04 a.m., police charged Mary Brandt, 61, of Morrisville with driving under the influence. Police had stopped Brandt for a defective taillight on Bridge Street in Morrisville.
Dec. 1 at 2:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a lost skier at Bolton Valley ski area. Police said David Gagne, 46, of Chester, N.H., activated his SOS beacon after struggling with his skis in the deep snow. With assistance from Stowe Mountain Rescue, authorities located Gagne near Cotton Brook Road in Waterbury. Police reminded backcountry skiers to carry a map, a compass and emergency gear.
Dec. 1 at 5:27 p.m., police charged Earl S. Baumgardner, 61, of Waterbury with driving under the influence and careless and negligent driving. Police arrested Baumgardner after a caller reported someone was driving erratically on Route 2 in Waterbury.
Dec. 1 at 7:43 p.m., an overdue hunter was reported in a wooded area between Bog Road and Route 109 in Belvidere. With the assistance of Fish and Wildlife officers and canine units, authorities located Steven Stanley, 61, of Newport. Police said Stanley became disoriented after losing his GPS and was unable to navigate his way out of the woods. When found, he was in good health and did not need any medical care. Stanley had built a small fire and planned to remain in the woods overnight and find his way out the following morning.
